Biography

Natalia Elkina is an artist specialising in contemporary and traditional stained glass and leadlights. Originally from Udmurtia, a republic located in Eastern European part of Russia, Natalia received her art education in London (UK). She graduated with first class honours degree in 3D Design and Craft and established Italmas Design stained glass studio in 2014. During her life in the UK, the artist worked on private commissions and for some prominent London based stained glass artists, including Jude Stark (the London Stained Glass Co.) and Annahita Hessami (Cut Glass Studio). Her work was exhibited as part of New Designers in 2014. She also received an honourable mention at the Stevens Competition held by the Worshipful Company of Glaziers and Painters of Glass in London in 2015. After 15 years in the UK, Natalia relocated to Queensland, Australia in 2022. Currently she is working on collaborations with artists from different mediums, as well as assisting to distinguished Australian-based stained glass artist, Julian Podmore, at the Leadlight Craftsman Studio in Brisbane.
